Fitness is not an easy thing to maintain properly, but it is one that rewards you ten-fold for all the work you put in. It is vital that we attempt to achieve this higher level of well-being, but it's going to take some hard-work and effort on your behalf. The good news is, there's something out there everyone can do to get fit. A little bit of time and some dedication is all that you need to get into shape. It might even be fun.

Don't lift weights for more than an hour at a time. Not only that, but muscle wasting starts at around an hour during this type of exercise. With this in mind, don't do multi-hour weight lifting sessions.



Include the exercises that intimidate you in your workouts. For many people, the exercises they avoid are the ones that they're the least skilled at. Add these weaker exercises to your normal workout routine, and just keep practicing them.

You are not going to get six pack abs by only doing crunches. While abdominal exercises do strengthen muscles, they do not actually burn belly fat. If you want flat abs, you have to take care of your diet and do a lot of cardio and weight training to cut body fat.

If you tend to backslide on your workout routine, write down a schedule so you don't forget to get it done. Plan on working out a set number of days per week, and keep to your schedule no matter what. If you end up missing your workout for whatever reason, make it a priority to reschedule it at a later date.
